Firefox - a browser whos reputation is built on trust, privacy, and setting the agreed standards google refuses to touch.
For a generation firefox has been the browser of choice, the safe place. Now it's entering a chosen obsolescence by adopting dark UX practices and a clear irreverence for the community that built this. One dark UX example is AI is opted back in after almost every update! The lies from mozilla to the user is another issue.
Good for the C-suiters that can make a mint - BUUUUUUT when you have a browser with a minority user base, and you defy that base, well who will use this?
I mean, who uses privacy and standards focused browsers? It's IT professionals and IT savvy folk - who also are the ones that share/recommend/install on new systems for the non-savvy users!!!
The dumbness and tone-deafness of this is astounding.
This is a massive loss for the internet and FOSS as a whole. The only thing that makes it okay, is that there were some amazing payouts for the brave C-suite who decided to cash out at the expense of all mozillas current IP at the cost of so many. Good work!
