Open Conversation mode deletes my last email in the thread while I'm looking at it

In the latest version of Thunderbird (128.4) when I view a conversation and look at the last email I sent in the thread, it shows up for a few seconds and then gets deleted. I can still find it in Sent Mail. I'm using gmail with IMAP.
