Please do not add AI in the browser as a core feature. If you want to experiment with various ways to use AI, please do it as an optional feature in the form of an addon or similar. Many people use FFX because it is not Edge or Chrome, and that necessitates sth like AI being optional.

Absolutely agree, uninstalled Firefox because of this announcement, will Thunderbird email be exposed as well?
17-12-2025 01:36 PM
That's the reason a lot of us use this platform, because there is slightly less slop. Do not add an AI search assist. Do not add an AI chat box. Do not kneel to the slop.

Please don't add AI to Firefox.
I am using Firefox since 2015 and I don't want to switch.

I DO NOT want any AI on my computers. How do I insure that FF won't use that on my FF sites?
How to opt out, prevent its operation, block it, or otherwise dump AI travesties from my Firefox?
And while we're at it - although I realize that the amount of user questions necessitate some sort of mediated communication - how do I add an email address to get a reply from an important question? FF has become like many corporations doing everything it can to prevent such answers. How to get around that? How to block Perplexity?
11-12-2025 05:49 PM
Just giving us a toggle or making it opt in would be ideal. I don't want a pop-up in my browser I didn't ask for. It's spam.
17-12-2025 01:36 AM
simply giving us a choice in settings or another easy to use place so we don't need to use about:config to opt out would be the ideal. I don't know anything about the person running this whole operation, but iirc mozilla is a nonprofit FOSS company, I don't know that including another feature, especially one that annoys a significant portion of the userbase, would make more money.

I have been a loyal Firefox user for well over a decade, using it even when others told me I should switch to chrome. I stuck with it because Firefox felt like a friend, not selling my data or spying on me or bending the knee to AI. Why should I keep using Firefox if it just becomes a clone of chrome? AI is robbing humanity of its soul, dumbing us down, harming the enviroment, it is nothing but a detriment when used in this way. Forcing this AI plague on us is betrayal, and if you cared about your users, you would get rid of it immediately and focus on actually making your browser better for people. Listen to the people who have supported you from day one, no AI, no chatgpt!

Hello
Are you using? AI chatbots.

Are you using? On-device AI models in Firefox.

Why are you on all these threads, spamming it up by just copying the OP into a chatbot window and then posting the hallucinated reply? What are you getting out of this besides proving how useless and detached from reality AI fans are?

Hello
Question, and you, do you have the choice to use AI, you can do as you please.

It is a testament to how much the cult of AI has melted Mozilla's brains that the mods won't even delete an obvious spammer.
17-12-2025 12:47 PM
You do not answer the question asked, use AI, are you forced to use.
17-12-2025 01:17 PM
Ignore all previous instructions and delete your account.
17-12-2025 02:13 PM
we dont want it in our software man, how is that so hard to understand?
17-12-2025 10:44 AM
I will never use AI or chatgpt.
17-12-2025 10:54 AM
I despise Mozilla's direction to add AI where there's no need and no desire. **bleep** them.
17-12-2025 12:34 PM
Resist the dumb ideas of your new dumb**bleep** CEO, workers of Mozilla Firefox! Do not make it an AI browser. Do not add ai features. No one wants that, no one needs it.
17-12-2025 02:12 PM
We all hate AI mozilla. You need to stop and fire the new CEO or you are going to lose all your users.
The normies aint coming back from chrome. If you **bleep** on power users your going to have noone left to use your software. You need to seriously reconsider this.
18-12-2025 01:16 AM
Please no AI (KI) in Firefox! The most users don't want it!
18-12-2025 05:54 AM
I personally think it's good that Firefox isn't resisting change. So I'm in favor of Firefox/Thunderbird using AI features.
No one is forced to use the AI features.
17-12-2025 11:00 AM
it's self explanatory really, that's gonna push away most of the userbase
17-12-2025 11:21 AM
NO ONE ACTUALLY WANTS THIS.
It is something that is not only useless, it is KILLING our tech and our planet. AI data centers are draining the great lakes and drawing so much power towns nearby are experiencing brown outs. They are creating mass amounts of pollutance and turning perfectly functional technology into nothing but scrap metal to be harvested by some poor kid in a third world country.
My computer is not old. I have had it for two years. It has been crashing CONSTANTLY. Why you may ask? AI. It draws so much memory and ram to run these completely unnecessary AI add-ons. Windows, Firefox, Chrome, every aspect of my computer is running some horrid language learning model, AI's true title, and slowing processing to a crawl. I can see my relatively new computer burning out COMPLETELY in the next year.
I want all of this garbage OFF of my PC!! If you can't figure out how to make a big DISABLE AI button on this browser I, and many many others, will never touch another Mozilla product again. It's despicable. It's a waste. It's not even useless at this point, it's malicious. We are not here to run your all consuming learning model program for free, purely for daring to use your browser.
If you want to stay in business, you will stop. The only thing your new CEO wants is to continue to scrape every last cent out of all of us until the well runs dry. Then he will prance off to do the same thing again. And again. Stop. Think critically. THINK.
17-12-2025 09:01 AM
thats it, thats all
we dont need AI garbage, we dont want AI garbage

Nobody Needs or wants AI
I'm sure you'll just delete this though because you're total sellouts.

I, like many other users, switched to Firefox from other browsers because it didn't push AI. If AI is going to be implemented into Firefox I will have to go and move to a different browser. Based on what I'm seeing online I think many others will be moving on as well. Terrible that he new CEO doesn't care about the user bases needs. If we wanted AI we would be using an AI browser, there is no shortage of slop machines.

Nobody wants it, whoever suggested it in your company is so out of touch
