New UI on Android is awful, PLEASE give us an option to PERMANENTLY revert it.

Recently got the newest update forced on my android device, and I'm learning that this new UI is being FORCED now???

I specifically disabled the new UI on android because it was clunky, bloated, cluttered, annoying to deal with, and just generally SLOWER in every regard. Everything was easily accessible before this new UI, and now not only are the menus scattered making it awful to navigate with just my thumb, it takes several clicks to get to the same options that only took one before. I was happy using the old UI and shouldn't be forced into the new one for no good reason.

PLEASE add a option to PERMANENTLY disable this new UI and revert to the old one, high chance that I will NOT be using Firefox on my android once I find a replacement unless said option is added.

Anytime I've been told by a compy, "use it until you get used to it" I jump ship. I do not *have* to get used to anything let alone a bad UI from devs who can't take a hint or tell me that "it's too hard" to have customization options. I've already been daily driving Brave since this started, the only reason I haven't deleted FF yet is because I need to get all my passwords written down that are saved there, then it's gone. From my phone, from my windows set up and from my Linux set up. I suggest everyone else who hates this change so the same, and then FF can get use to having less users

Give iceraven a try is a ff fork secure no telemetry and lots of adons and a normal ui.

To me if is not firefox is not a browser i will use, sad times ahead, Ai,Ram,ssd is all corporate greed, like a cartel, poluting like crazy with datacenters, no more planting corn to to put Mad Electricity Eaters making slop, search results with no real results, totally dumb results or there are none, humm this is bad, please leve the ui alone.

Is iceraven available on Android somewhere?

IceRavem Sure is is just install the apk from github updated 5 days ago. Have fun is possible to sync bookmarks and adons are ready to go no need tinkering.

Dope. Thank you I'm going to check it out. Is the desktop version in the same git?

I'll have to check this out. If the old UI is not avaliable to use in the next update to Firefox I'll definitely have this as a consideration when switching browsers.

The real problem is other forks are using mozila code with the bad ui changes , it is bad is like when they banned cool skins on android saying will leave fingrepint is security risk

I have to agree here. One thumbed use just got worse a lot with the new tab manager. But is anyone from Mozilla actually reading these discussions here? Does feedback matter? I doubt it.

Chiming in to say that I am appalled by the changes made. The new menu and, to a slightly lesser extent, tabs overview are both atrocious. It boggles my mind that people looked at this and thought: "yep, we're gonna roll with that". It's just so much worse in every way. Onehanded use is way worse. Bar-on-top use is so much worse. So many less options are quickly visible and accessible. I've really tried for a week to get used to it, to not give a kneejerk reaction. But this UI is just genuinely awful.

It's basically a textbook example of form over function. Sacrificing usability on the altar of looks.

And when people found out about the option to disable the new design in the secret settings, you removed that option one version later. That just felt really mean-spirited and butthurt.

For now, I've disabled updates and gone back to v.148, with the secret setting to disable the new UI. Meanwhile, I'm trying out new browsers. I've yet to find one that is well-maintained for security and similar in usability to Firefox before the redesign ruined it. Specifically one where I can quickly access stuff onehandedly from the bottom right. But once I find one, I can well imagine saying goodbye to Firefox on mobile after many years of usage if you keep forcing this awful redesign on people.

Your designers really need to take a good hard look at themselves and ask tough questions to determine what the hell they had been thinking when designing this abomination.

Oh, and let me add that while the UI redesign is really bad on the phone, it is absolutely awful on a tablet. On the phone I now have to uncomfortably stretch the thumb to at least reach some options with only one hand in use. On the tablet, that's naturally entirely impossible - I'm no alien with 10cm long thumbs.

I registered just to voice my dislike of this UI. I tried, but it's just plain bad. It's worse to use, it's slower with pointless animations, and it consumes needless space. I have nothing good to say about it.

My suggestion to have what we've been asking for for the UI and tab tray viewer was accepted in the suggestions. Everyone who dislikes the new changes should go up vote and comment on the post
