Hello,
The new profile management UI is a welcome improvement in terms of visibility and general accessibility. It is clearly a step in the right direction. However, in its current form, it still feels somewhat limited for more advanced users.
The main concern is that it improves discoverability more than day-to-day usability. There is no really smooth path for bringing historical profiles into the new experience, and the coexistence of the legacy profile system and the new UI can feel more parallel than truly integrated. For users who already have a reliable workflow based on legacy profiles, the practical added value remains rather modest at this stage.
Two further limitations stand out:
the profile selection window cannot be opened from a toolbar button, which would be very useful for quicker access (for example, the former firefox-profile-switcher extension addressed this kind of need)
it cannot be called directly from the command line in a way equivalent to -P without extra parameters, which would help users who want finer control over launch behaviour, such as opening Firefox either with the default profile or with the profile selector
Overall, the new profile management UI is promising, but for the time being it feels more like a more visible interface layer than a genuinely more capable profile workflow.
