Speaking up for this! The sole acknowledgement of the Android regression by staff is by this new employee. This person likely has no power to influence the motions, so who else can we ping to raise visibility for this? What threshold does it take to reach the next stage of the Idea Journey?
It doesn't seem that the developers on the Android team have Mozilla Connect accounts (going by the names of those responsible for organizing the effort for New Tab Management and the Menu Redesign). To note, this development is entirely internal (Figma and Jira to view design mockups require corporate account). We had no say in the design! One comment I found was hidden for just asking about the rationale behind the change.
It is very frustrating to see the misguided effort of a closeted handful of people ruin the only mobile browser (and forks) that sync with Firefox Desktop.
Anyone could understand the need to switch over to new technologies (View -> Compose), but there was no reason to radically redesign the experience, at the cost of years of muscle memory. It should have aimed for design parity from square 1, and not moved 1 pixel.
