I just joined and got 3 emails about getting badges. This is obnoxious. I'm probably going to get more with this new idea.
Email notifications by default should be reserved for things that require my attention, badges are not that.
So my proposal is to change the default email notification option of badge earning from Immediately to Never, and also review the other Immediately defaults if they are justified.
