I am using Thunderbird 115.10.1 (64 bits) with Mac OS 26.3.1 and wanted to change the color of the text in a reply but the text would remain stubbornly black despite all options being set properly in the configuration. I had to dig in old answers in forums to discover that you must close the color pick-up window after selecting your color, THEN click on OK to validate the color choice for the color to be applied. The answer was dated in 2020 and we are now in 2026, this bug still exists. I did not have to do these very specific task order with previous versions of Thunderbird but did not have to change text color for a while so why is this bug still present? We should just have to pick a color in one window and click OK in the same window to apply the choice and the color choice should remain as long as we don't change it. What do you all think about it?

I am also very frustrated by text color on email replies. Depending on the email received sometimes my text is invisible even though my setting are explicit. When I 'select all' to make the changes to the background and text colors, then the quoted email text is invisible. More and more, I am using the Yahoo mail or GMail apps to reply instead of Thunderbird. They don't seem to have an issue keeping the original message text visible and my reply text visible.
