LESS UPDATES!!

I would have a lot less problems with this browser if there was not an update essential to it FUNCTIONING PROPERLY nearly every freaking day. Ill even tell you exactly why, I, like most people, like to leave my browser open. I do not want to do bookmarks it is simpler to pick up right where I left off. Every other browser functions correctly for MONTHS with it staying open before any "needs to update to not be slow" trouble. This one USED to be the same and work fine open for long periods of time. But lately over the past year or so it hasnt. It will honestly make me switch to another browser very soon if it continues and I suspect I am not the only one. So if you'd like to be as good as Google Chrome or Edge, maybe, STAY FUNCTIONAL WITHOUT NEEDING EVERY TINY UPDATE 3 TIMES A WEEK!!!

Update to v. 14.01 has destroyed the joy I have experienced since installing and using Firefox as my default browser since 2019.  Since the update to 14.0.1 I have noted multiple problems.

1) loading almost anything in a new tab is very slow.  Interestingly, loading the same url in a private window is very fast, but I must intentionally select "load in private window".  For most url links, "open in a new tab is the default"

2. Firefox 14.0.1 does not let gmail check incoming messages.  Often incoming emails that I have note as spam appear in the inbox.  Similarly, I often get the message "be careful with this, Gmail could not check it" when I open a commonly received email in my inbox.

3. Endless updates seem to change appearance or trivial functionality and apparently have nothing to do with security .  Why all the updates?

4.  None of these problems occur when I perform the same operations in Edge or Google

5. Why must I select a browser version each time I load Firefox.  That is new with 14.0.1

Although I am a long term user I do not like version 14.0.1 at all.  I want the fast, secure, predictable, "private" browser I have used for the past 7 years back.  I'll select another browser as my default for the time being and check back in a couple of months to see if the problems I have cited have been fixed.
