Recently my toolbar three-dot menu (the one that has options like refresh, share etc) changed, ballooning in proportion to cover about two thirds of my screen. On noticing this change I took to the support forums to ask for support and to find if there was any way for me to fix the issue without reinstalling the browser. I truly thought the application had bugged and was displaying a UI meant for tablet sized devices on my phone.
This change takes away the ability to operate the menu one handed, obscures the website I was on behind a massive box and as far as I can tell shows less options than the list view from before. It feels like the point of this upcoming redesign is to do one of two things: Either it's to frustrate their neurodivergent users, who struggle with change even when it brings benefit, or they're changing things up for reason because someone with too much power decided they wanted 'a refresh'. My toaster doesn't find a way to make my breakfast routine more frustrating when some idiot at the company decides making toast should be different for everyone, how is it so hard for the fine people at Mozilla to do the same with my browsing experience?
I'd love to use the secret settings to disable this obnoxious change but it would seem that toggling the relevant setting, 'Enable the toolbar menu redesign' does nothing, even after a restart of the browser. Between this and the AI garbage being put in our desktop browsers I'm considering switching over to Edge, I'm sick of it.
