Deleted bookmarks after update to 145.0.2

Last night I manually updated the browser to 145.0.2, as I have done for years without issue, and quickly realized all my bookmarks were gone. Bookmarks I have been collecting for years that I use daily for work and school. After I freaked out, I came to terms with it, and even after spending more time this morning searching for a fix, I'm coming to terms with having to manually bring back each one from mobile FF (I didn't have my phone synced so bookmarks are still in tact there). I also have a Time Machine backup from about a month ago that I can pull from, but what a pain the a$*. I'm too busy for this.

I have checked profiles and my old profile simply doesn't show; it has been removed. I have not found any other fix. Until now I thought Mozilla was at the top as far as a browser, and the UI is slick and fast. But this is unacceptable. I realize now how heavily I rely on my bookmarks daily for work and school, so not only am I going to set bookmark backup reminders, I'm going to have to use a different default browser. Sad!

I have recently lost all of my bookmarks also. I did find a way to get them back, but you would have to be fairly adept with Windows Explorer to do so. It's necessary to "fool" the system.

Firstly, your BOOKMARKBACKUPS folders are satored in the C:\Users\*****\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles folders. These folders are not named to reflect the usernames, they look more like encrypted bs, so expand the ones with the latest dates. Then find the latest files you want to restore. I had to look through several profiles to find the latest pre-loss file. The naming convention is BOOKMARKS-(date)(total number of bookmarks)(hash). Look for the latest one with the largest number of entries. Copy this file to the user folder that's currently in use, or if not sure which one that is, make a copy in all the bookmarkbackups folders...makes it a sure hit.

Then open Firefox, go to the Bookmarks, Manage Bookmarks, Import & Backup, Restore, and Choose File. Go to the user profile folders where you made the copies, and select it. In about 1 second, you'll be smiling...
