Did you mean:

I almost uninstalled Firefox after the new UI update.

Dear Mozilla,
I implore you to make the new UI (Nova) disabled by default, or even better, to remove it completely.

Most of the community and users agree that it is a horrible change that makes Firefox less usable for a lot of people and makes it stray from the very reason everyone uses it: it is simple and minimalistic.

The rounded corners lose a ton of space and are genuinely not nice to look at and distracting. The overuse of colors everywhere, on the edges of tabs, the search bar, and other places, makes it impossible to focus and navigate properly. And the cherry on top is that a lot of users now think that the browser is "vibecoded" because of these terrible design choices.

Sure, we can disable this new UI using about:config, but we are losing a bunch of users who do not know that. And what is the point of having a UI that everyone disables because of how bad it is as the default anyway?

A lot of users, myself included, agree that the day we cannot switch to the Proton UI anymore (the old UI), we are switching to another browser. Because this UI is simply impossible to align with the reasons we use Firefox and the way we use it.

In the hope that you will read this feedback and listen to the community for once,
Ethan.

Well, let the numbers talk for them self. If the UI is so unappealing it will scare away new users (and not just upset a bunch of old users who doesn't like change) it will be apparent to a degree that it's a business decision to change it again/change it back.

I agree completely, and I really hope Mozilla listens to us on this.

Look into a Firefox "fork", such as Basilisk, Floorp, Librewolf, Pale Moon or Waterfox.

Some of those aren't using the new UI; some are, but allow for easier undoing of it.
