Frames command in html are not working on firefox (again)

The <frames> command used to work few days ago when I was creating the website, but suddenly today it doesn't work in firefox, but it works normally in chrome.

i cannot click a link in the left frame to change the page on the right frame.

my page uses file:// links in a folder where all the pages are in the same folder on linux.

it is just reading book and chapter with table of contents in frame 1 and the pages in frame 2. It is very, very simple web page.

the issue seems only affecting me with the file:// type view. when i view the same html pages on a web server over http:// i can click the links in frame 1 and they open in frame 2 correctly.
