Firefox tabs sometimes feel a bit slower than usual

Hi everyone,
Lately I’ve noticed some tabs in Firefox take a bit longer to load than before. Nothing major, just curious if anyone else has seen this too?
Maybe a recent update or setting change?

Hey Henery, yeah, I’ve noticed that too lately. It seems like some of the recent Firefox updates have slightly changed how background tabs and memory caching work, so pages can feel a bit slower to load at times, especially if you’ve got a lot of tabs open. Clearing the cache or disabling unused extensions sometimes helps a bit. It’s nothing major, probably just Firefox adjusting after a recent update, but you’re definitely not the only one seeing it.

Yes, I have a website as well. I’ve been working on it recently and focusing on making it simple and useful for people who want to experiment with different text styles. You can check it out here: Police d'écriture. I’d also be interested to hear what you think about it.

I’ve run into this kind of slowdown before, and in my case it wasn’t really the number of tabs by itself. Extensions and pages that keep running in the background seemed to make the delay more noticeable.

One thing worth trying is Firefox’s Troubleshoot Mode for a while. If the tabs feel normal there, that’s a good indication that an extension or customization is contributing to the slowdown. From there, disabling extensions one at a time is a much easier way to find the culprit than clearing everything and hoping it fixes the issue.

I also found this Firefox performance troubleshooting guide useful because it goes through the common causes and the checks you can make before resetting the browser and you can check it out here: Şekilli Nick
