Firefox has serious screen tear issues when playing videos, no matter youtube twitch netflix etc., a line of mismatch is visible when picture is moving fast, which is a vsiyn issue. Setting in nvidia panel does not fix it. I only use Firefox for better privacy protection, but Chrome and edge dun have such playback issue, and i have to use them to play videos.

It would be nice to get this issue resolved without having to turn on hardware acceleration.

Why don't you want to turn on hardware acceleration?

For that I would rather not say as I don't want it patched away, but I can say it isn't something troublesome, or illegal, but it is an interaction between Firefox, and Discord, that only works with H.A. turned off.
Now this screen tearing issue however, doesn't happen on that stuff, but does happen on YouTube, and when scrolling up, and down web pages when H.A. is turned off, so I am confused on why only happens there, and not other places, and figure it's some kind of bug.
Firefox just needs a proper vsync implementation, or to be affected by the setting in nVidia Control Panel.
