Firefox has always been slow to start, but lately it seems to be getting worse rather than better. My home page often takes more than several minutes to load. Thinking that the cache might have something to do with it, I changed the History settings to clear the "temporary cached files and pages" upon closing.
This seems to have alleviated the problem somewhat, but now Firefox occasionally crashes upon closing. This had never happened before so I suspect it has something to do with the change I made to the History setting. And sure enough, after having crashed upon closing Firefox takes forever to load my home page the next time I open it, suggesting that the crash occurred while it was attempting to clear the temporary cache. Has anyone else experienced this?
