Yeah this is a well known problem. I really hate it when facing two factor auth web app then logged out.

This is decade old problem and still hasn't any way because of how Android works. I really confused when see this problem tbh..

Yes, it is really frustrating.

I sometimes want to do payments in Firefox, but sometimes websites will open another app, or I have to look for a 2FA to login somewhere, and then I lost everything.

And then I have to open Chrome, because well, I can do payments over there.

If this isn't fixed, I'll most probably change browser, I don't need a second browser.

Yeah I've been trying to switch to Firefox nightly since I can use extwntions, but every time those tab reloads which is really frustrating to do anything, for me it reloads even when I switch between tabs on Firefox itself! Really bad optimisation for android! Fix this asap Mozilla!

I agree to this the tab loading management in background really bad compared to opera kind of chromium based browser.

Even i can't understand why loaded app lost automatically if user loads more tabs i think there is required some particle loading kind of thing instead of Completely killing so when user come back then atleast tab appear loaded or load fast.

Actually the problem is for example When user loads 3 tabs and then if user uses only 1 or 2 tabs for some time like 5 minutes or may be more then when user come back to see loaded tabs they all reload again.

The number is example may change this is just assumption example but this becomes true.

So basically there is no limit user can set that atleast 5 or 10 tabs user wants to load last visited if possible don't kill them this kind of option is not available so browser can understand preference.

One more thing i Also don't understand why then every new tab we opens add in last of all that is also required to fix.

I totally agree, this is so annoying. No login into bank account possible, because I need to open the 2FA app, almost no online payment... Absolutely embarrassing for a Browser app. Such things must work even before the very first release!

I’ve put together a workaround for anyone using Firefox Mobile on MIUI devices who’s dealing with tabs being killed - resulting in wiped forms and videos restarting.

After exhausting every non-root option, I was close to throwing my XIAOMI MI 11 Ultra against the wall. That’s what pushed me to build a Greasy Fork userscript that keeps Firefox “alive” by making the device believe a silent video is continuously playing. It runs muted, so other apps’ audio focus isn’t affected.

The script also enables background playback and playback with the display off automatically once it’s active. The most common domains are already preconfigured; you only need to add additional domains in the script if a specific site you want isn’t included yet.

Current limitation: Bluetooth audio isn’t supported yet, and I don’t have a viable approach for that at the moment.

Implementation details are documented on Greasy Fork, and there’s a GitHub repository for anyone who wants to contribute. This has solved the issue reliably for me and should let me keep using the device for another year - after which I’ll switch phones (and it won’t be Xiaomi).
