Feedback for Firefox on iPad Pro 11-inch (M4)

Derik
Making moves

The Firefox app is currently not optimized for the iPad Pro 11-inch (M4). When the device is used in landscape mode, it’s very difficult to tap on the browser tabs because they are positioned too high —  overlapping with the iPad’s Control Center area (where the time, Wi-Fi, and battery icons are).

I suggest redesigning the user interface to better suit iPad usage. For example:

  • Increase the size of buttons, tabs, and the search bar to make them easier to tap using touch input.
  • Consider moving the tab bar and search bar lower on the screen, similar to how it appears on iPhone, instead of directly reusing the desktop-style layout.

Great feedback, Derik. The current desktop-style layout doesn’t translate well to iPad touch use, especially on the M4’s tall landscape view.

Your suggestions to enlarge the tap targets and move the tab/search bar lower (more like the iPhone layout) would make it far more comfortable and reduce overlap with the system status area. Sharing this with the Firefox for iOS team via Bugzilla or the in-app “Send Feedback” option would help prioritize these iPad-specific UI tweaks.
