I just tried to add an email address to an existing with a domain in the format @aaa.bc.ca Here in Canada, many organizations use domains with the province, as well as country code.
What I ended up with was the red line encircling the offending email address and no information as to what was contributing to an "invalid email"
This format of emails are not invalid. The data validation rules need to be updated! Is there any reason why they aren't (other than the fact that the are not commonly issued anymore?)
This particular domain case was for a government institution who have been using this same domain since the 1990's.

OK, ironies of irony!
A "You earned the Convo Starter badge on Mozilla Connect" just arrived in my inbox, from replies@relay.firefox.com
I couldn't add this email address by right clicking the email header, but I could add this compound domain address with copy email paste. So what is the algorithm preventing aaa.bc.ca domains?

You could report it as a possible bug at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi/. If you do, please post the link to it here.
