Obviously the 115.43 ESR version only exists for Windows 7 and 8 users (and some old macOS versions).

As it's based on the 115 release, from July 2023, some pages may begin to break, given it only gets security-updates, not bug-fixes or new website code support.

You can try a few things:

1. See if an extension is causing your issue.  Recent versions of Firefox have a "Troubleshoot Mode" in Menu -> Help and Report -> Troubleshoot Mode.  In the older 115 ESR, you'll probably find "Safe Mode" in the "Help" menu, which does the same thing.  Try eBay in that mode, where all extensions are disabled, and if it works, then you know an extension in the normal mode is causing your issue, so you can try disabling one on eBay, see if it works; if not, re-enable it and disable another one and repeat.

2. Might be Firefox's own page-protections.  If the 115 release has a shield icon to the left of the website address, click it and see if "Tracking Protection" can be turned-off.

3. If you still have an issue, it may be eBay are blocking the 115 release from using their site.  Install a "User Agent Switcher" extension (like: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/user-agent-string-switcher/ ) and you can make Firefox lie and pretend to be a newer version.  That may let you access sites again, but if their pages use code newer than 115 can support, expect frozen sites or broken bits on webpages.

Bonjour

You can try User Agent Switcher

Anyway, Firefox 115 browser is out of date.

The user is using "version 115.43.0esr", not the regular version 115 , which is the only version of Firefox now supported for Windows 7 and 8 users.  The most-recent update for the 115 ESR branch is the point 43 release they are using, see: https://www.firefox.com/firefox/115.43.0/releasenotes/

Therefore 115.43.0 ESR is technically not "out of date" as (1) Mozilla are going to support it until March 2027 (https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-users-windows-7-8-and-81-moving-extended-support ), and (2) on Windows 7 and 8, you have little-choice now of browsers to use.

Firefox 115 browser is out of date.

J'ai installé Linux en double-démarrage avec Windows7.

As for me, System Firefox installation (for advanced users), that's my installation.

> "Firefox 115 browser is out of date" = true, it was released 4th July 2023, and the final update, 115.0.3, was released 27th July 2023

But the ESR version of 115, which is what the user has said they are using, is still supported by Mozilla.  Even in the links you pointed to, it says this:

https://whattrainisitnow.com/calendar/
158 is the current stable-version; the matching ESR releases are 153.5 and 115.43

https://whattrainisitnow.com/release/?version=esr
Clearly says:
We have decided to extend support to ESR 115 only on Windows 7-8.1 and macOS 10.12-10.14 up to March 2027.

We are not yet past March 2027, so the ESR 115 release is still being supported.

Why are you arguing this point, and posting links that also argue against yourself?

@kelimuttu : I appreciate you've confirmed Agentvirtuel as being human, not a bot, but maybe you could PM them and request they stop just posting random links to stuff?

I cannot see how they are being helpful sometimes: Firefox ESR 115.43 is the current version of Firefox for Windows 7 and 8 users.  Why is this even being argued against?

I think both of you have valid points here.

You've made it clear that ESR 115 is still supported. While @Agentvirtuel simply wanted to let the user know that they have the option to switch to linux to so they'll be able to use the latest version and not stuck with ESR 115.

I don't think these two points contradict each other. Both can be true without invalidating the other.

Let's not get too caught up in a disagreement over two non-conflicting facts. Ultimately, we're all trying to help the user make an informed decision. (:
