Create custom keyboard shortcuts for the new features brought by Firefox Nighly.

Hello,

I have to use a custom keymap to correctly manage accents on my French letters.

With the introduction of the vertical tab shutter and its enforced keyboard shortcut of CTRL + ALT + Z, I've realized that my keyboard doesn't react to this keystroke.

What I'd really like to see is the possibility for end-users to choose their own custom shortcut with these key combinations that don't work, at least not for me.

How do I see it? The same answer that Zen Brower uses, i.e. a page summarizing the shortcuts, and the possibility of customizing them.

In the worst case, it would be just as effective (but less time-consuming to develop) to allow you to change this shortcut in about:config.

Do you think this is possible?

Thank you for considering my request, I love you!

PatriceGr, The ability to remap keys is certainly a much requested feature. Even more vital if developers are going to take over ctrl+alt+key combos, which are used to produce special characters, provide user hotkeys, and should otherwise be left alone by applications.

If you haven't already, then You could consider adding karma to the opening posts of these threads and / or commenting in them, to add your voice to those that want the ability to remap keys:

But until a full remap functionality is offered, I agree that there should be the option to simply disable any such ctrl+alt+key hotkeys, even if this is only available via about:config.
