Caring about users' privacy... really ?

Making moves

I have been using Firefox for a long time, and really liked it at the beginning.
Back then, when I closed the browser (with the box "Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" ticked in the Privacy and Security settings), and opened it again, websites kept asking for my privacy consent and my customised settings were not displayed, since no data was saved from the previous session. As expected.
It's been a while now that with the same privacy settings activated, websites do not display their privacy policy anymore, and some of my website preferences still appear. Now, I have to perform additional actions, i.e. go to "Clear Data" in the privacy settings, tick all boxes AND make sure to select "Everything" from the top menu (set by default to "last hour") in order to really get all data cleared from the browser.
More annoyingly, especially from a browser that pretends to care about users' privacy, when one download the browser, all options to systematically save and autofill password and credit cards numbers are activated by default, and the user has to uncheck every box one by one. That is not what I call "caring about users' privacy". I am very unhappy about that, Firefox is no different anymore from its billionaires-owned competitors.
