Dear Mozilla Firefox Support/Development Team,
I am writing to report a consistent and reproducible bug I am experiencing when attempting to adjust the playback speed of YouTube videos on the current version of the Firefox browser.
1. Browser Information:
Browser: Firefox
Version: 145.0.2 (64-bit)
Operating System: Windows 11
2. Issue Description: When watching any video on YouTube, if I try to change the playback speed (e.g., from Normal to 1.5x or 0.5x) using the settings gear icon, the change does not take effect immediately.
3. Steps to Reproduce:
Open any YouTube video in Firefox 145.0.2.
Start the video playback.
Click the settings gear icon (⚙️) in the video player.
Navigate to the Playback speed menu and select a different speed (e.g., 1.5).
Expected Result: The video should immediately begin playing at the new speed.
Actual Result: The video continues to play at the original speed, and the new setting is not applied.
4. Temporary Workaround: To successfully apply the desired playback speed, I am always forced to reload the entire YouTube page (using F5 or the reload button) after selecting the new speed. Only then will the video play at the adjusted rate.
This issue significantly hinders the user experience on YouTube.
I would appreciate it if your team could investigate this matter.
Thank you for your time and attention to this bug.
Sincerely,
