There was a miniature dialogue box stating that something crashed attached the red image shown in the screenshot but no linked facility to make the report suggested, there or anywhere else in the Firefox page. The image obviously represents a 'crash' situation but no path to a remedy. I applied all of the suggested on- line treatment options without success. Shutting down overnight worked. Strange.
