Black line on Windows 11 when restoring an electron app with Firefox on the background

Hi, I notice this black line when restoring an electron app (from minimized state) with Firefox window on the background.

This was actually an issue with Windows 11 for quite sometime, but previously it only happened on Chrome or Edge. But since version 120 and above (including Nightlies), it has also happened on Firefox. Version 119 and below are fine.

Turning off Hardware acceleration fixes the issue, but I need it for playing videos on YouTube.

Any suggestions why it is happening?

I’ve noticed the same behavior. It seems related to how Windows 11 handles GPU rendering for Electron apps combined with Firefox’s recent updates. Since turning off hardware acceleration isn’t ideal for video playback, one workaround could be updating your graphics drivers or trying a different GPU renderer in Firefox’s settings (like switching between Direct3D and ANGLE). It’s not perfect, but it can sometimes reduce the black line issue while keeping hardware acceleration enabled.
