Firefox Android doesn't support opening multiple windows. This is available in other Chromium based browsers on Android (I've tested Vivaldi and seen it on Chrome for example), so it is possible.
Would love to see this change especially as with Android's upcoming desktop mode. I've been using it in beta for a couple months now and it's so incredible but definitely a bit held back by Firefox not being able to open multiple windows. If the feature exists and I just don't know how to find it, please share!
Of course, there are additional features that come with this like being able to drag tabs between windows, and plenty of other enhancements to the Firefox Android experience for large screens, but those can come later and I'm happy to share more details about them. ๐

even within my pixel tablet's free form windowed mode, it's so good but the main thing keeping me from using it in any capacity is Firefox's current state on larger mobile displays. I'm liking a lot of the updates firefox is putting out to the design at the moment, and would love to see this feature implemented as it would boost productivity through the roof

Exactly! The weird part is, Firefox was working really great on large screens running Android just last year. It was only for a few months and then it stopped working, but it was a dream! ๐คฉ I haven't been able to get any info about what changed or why it stopped working though. ๐ค

You should post this in Ideas rather than Discussion so people can vote on it as a new feature.

Oh, is that how it works? Do "Discussions" never get prioritized as new features? Only things posted as "Ideas" can be?
