The problem with most ads these days is the moderation of the ads themselves. I personally don't mind supporting firefox, seeing 3 sponsored suggestions on the home page is not a problem. What IS a problem is these ads being of shady Chinese companies. I am sorry, I don't want my personal space invaded by such companies. I am not going to re-enable this feature.
To the Mozilla folks - either figure out how sponsor moderation is going to be done so that we get the highest quality ads or don't bother adding this 'feature' in the first place.
Firefox is currently my favourite browser, but if this ads trend continues, I will have to look elsewhere.
