Vertical tabs / sidebar - expand on mouseover

Vertical tabs/the sidebar would benefit from an 'auto-hide' or 'expand on mouseover' feature. Similar to how it behaves in Edge, I would like to be able to expand the sidebar for vertical tabs on mouseover when I want to review my open tabs. This would allow users to avoid manually toggling the expanded view and will improve the experience when tab groups are introduced.

In my opinion, if you were able to put social networks in the sidebar as a work, you could get a lot of audiences, because in any case firefox is already very comfortable and with this implementation it would become truly perfect

Adding Duck.ai or DuckDuckGo Chats to the Chatbot Sidebar would allow users to use privacy respecting chatbots and quick model switches. It also does not require a login, so saving cookies for the sidebar would not matter.

Dear [Browser Developer Team], As a dedicated user of your browser, I am writing to express my strong support for the addition of a second sidebar. This feature would greatly improve my overall browsing experience and provide me with more flexibility and convenience. Having the ability to open multiple sources of information simultaneously in a second sidebar would allow me to easily compare data, reference material, and switch between tasks with ease. This would save me time and i...

Just a matter of convenience... I believe on a large screen it makes more sense to have fresher tabs closer to the top, the most active area of the browser (all the controls are there), as less eye movement between them is required.

Perplexity AI into the sidebar. Please, add the Perplexity AI model to the LLM list in the sidebar. Or, as alternative and if possible, consider adding it as a search engine.

A typical use-case for the AI Chat sidebar, at least for me, is to open it, chat, close it, browse a bit more, go back to the sidebar, chat some more. However, as soon the sidebar is minimized the web page is closed and your chat history is lost. On a small (13") screen, the side panel takes up a considerable amount of horizontal space so it is not convenient to keep it open. But more importantly, the current behaviour is not compatible with how all these AI Chat providers work now - y...

Hello dear community, I love the Firefox browser and appreciate the many volunteers who contribute to its improvement. However, there's one feature I'm really missing for my academic work. Highlighting is great, and the new comment function is also useful. But what's definitely missing is a dedicated function in the sidebar that shows what and where I've highlighted text. Implementing this in a future version is urgently needed. It could be implemented just like Apple's Preview app, which h...

The addition of vertical tabs is a great new feature. I think the sidebar should be hidden when in fullscreen mode (F11 on Windows). The horizontal tabs are hidden in fullscreen, I think only the tab content should be displayed.

A feature that allows you to add whatever you want to the new sidebar. The possibilities are endless - you could even have apps like calendar, notes, weather sort of like Vivaldi, or a second place to display bookmarks of your choice.  I think the "app idea" is the most useful though - so you can just click right on an icon and bring up an "app" instead of visiting the website. you can maybe add your own apps but then there are also a few "built in apps" with their own custom loading a...
