Just came here to say the same thing! And if I’m not mistaken, this isn’t the first time they’ve removed the bookmark button. It’s like they have a personal vendetta against it 😄

Thanks a lot! I could've sworn I tried that, but I guess not 😄

Just in case that reddit link is dead, solution was:

Go to FF menu > Settings > search for sidebar > disable 'Show sidebar'.

1)

Short cut which I used to use for more years when using firefox.exe:

To disable:

          Alt v t b n

To enable:

          Alt v t b a

Also I used to use:

2)

C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~1\distribution\policies.json

OR

murugesan_openssl@127.0.0.1 /cygdrive/c/Users/murugesan_openssl/AppData [ 0 ]
$ find $PWD -name policies.json
/cygdrive/c/Users/murugesan_openssl/AppData/Local/Mozilla/Firefox/distribution/policies.json
/cygdrive/c/Users/murugesan_openssl/AppData/Local/MozillaFirefox/distribution/policies.json
murugesan_openssl@127.0.0.1 /cygdrive/c/Users/murugesan_openssl/AppData [ 0 ]
$

{
            "policies": {
                       "AppUpdateURL": "http://127.0.0.1/",
                       "DisableAppUpdate": true,
                       "DisableFirefoxStudies": true,
                       "DisableSystemAddonUpdate": true,
                       "DisableTelemetry": true,
                       "ExtensionUpdate": false
            }
}

3)

Delete mozilla firefox maintenance service using services.msc

Murugesan@127.0.0.1 /cygdrive/c/PROGRA~2/MOZILL~1 [ 0 ]
$ find ./ -name "*.exe*"
./maintenanceservice.exe.gz
./maintenanceservice_tmp.exe.gz
./Uninstall.exe.gz
Murugesan@127.0.0.1 /cygdrive/c/PROGRA~2/MOZILL~1 [ 0 ]
$

4)

Using appwiz.cpl I am having only:

Mozilla Firefox (x64 en-US) alone without any maintenance service for years.
