Where is the professional help?

Leaving "help" to self appointed experts may be fine in many cases, but when a question is posted which gets zero response from the community, clearly there must be a next step.

In my case, Thunderbird is automatically and autonomously deleting contacts, an action which is completely unwanted and needs to be stopped. As an interim measure I have denied Thunderbird access to my Google account, though that cannot be the solution.

I can't believe I'm the only person to experience this, so where is the help from the developers?
