A dedicated PST Viewer can be a practical option if you only need to inspect the contents of a PST without installing Outlook.
I’ve used SysInfo PST Viewer for this purpose. It allows you to load a PST file and preview emails, attachments, contacts, calendars, tasks, and mailbox folders without requiring an Outlook profile. It also supports ANSI and Unicode PST files.
