When you collapse a tab group in Firefox, the group’s tabs are hidden to reduce clutter, and the browser automatically shifts focus to the next available tab in the tab bar (usually the closest ungrouped tab or a tab in another group).
This design prioritizes a clean tab bar but can be disruptive if you want to stay on the child tab. The behavior aligns with Firefox’s tab group implementation, which treats the group as a single entity when collapsed.t always user-preferred.
This disrupts my workflow, as I expect the active tab to remain in view or be easily accessible after collapsing the group.
Feature Request: Add an option or modify the tab group behavior to keep the active child tab visible when collapsing a group. This would improve usability for users who rely on tab groups for organization but want to stay focused on their current tab.
Steps to Reproduce:
Open Firefox and create a tab group.
Open a child tab within the group and make it active.
Collapse the tab group.
Observe that focus remains on the tab inside the group instead of shifting focus to tabs outside of tab group when collapsing.
