When writing an email in "normal mode", after inserting bullet points or numbered enumerations, Thunderbird automatically switches to "paragraph mode" after that section.
In my opinion, it would be better if changes in modes would only affect when actively chosen by the user - and not automatically. That automatic switching to "paragraph mode" after enumerations in most times is unnecessary and destroys the text layout.
(Or am I missing a setting somewhere?)

With 115.10.2 / Win 11 it does that when replying to a message by inserting comments in the original text. You can reset to body text, but then Return inserts spurious blank lines, so you can't obtain a normal layout.
This isn't the only difficulty or limitation and, to express it politely, the development team are not too polite with their replies. After many years using TB, I'm giving up. It will die soon anyway.
