Recently when I first launch TB (so open Inbox) I see the incredibly alarming "no message found", then a second later the mailbox fills
It displays too soon. I have become inured to it, but the jump in my blood pressure for the first few days was dangerous.

I agree -- display some sort of "working..." message until it has been determined that there was "no message found".

May I suggest that the message "No message found" is changed to "Checking for messages..." until the checking is finished. Although the status line at the bottom shows that checking is in progress, the "No message found" is misleading.
Similarly, maybe when there are messages (the most common case), add some pacifier while checking the server. For example, change the mouse cursor or show a rotating circle or a message "Checking...".

When dealing with issues like Thunderbird’s “no message found,” it’s all about understanding how information is fetched and displayed—something thefameplanet routinely handles when presenting structured celebrity data. Just as the platform ensures profiles load correctly, resolving this Thunderbird error often comes down to fixing indexing or sync problems so messages appear as expected. Both scenarios highlight how proper data retrieval directly affects what the user sees.
