Tabs rapidly closing with control+w

bk-
Making moves

This has only become an issue within the last couple weeks, if memory serves.

Tapping control+w to close a single tab is now closing multiple tabs in very rapid succession before it is possible to release the keyboard shortcut.

Holding control+w will continue to close tabs until released.  Should this keyboard shortcut not fire on key release instead of key down?  Is it possible to have a delay?

I've tested with a mechanical K95 and a Microsoft membrane keyboard.  Both are sending keys at the appropriate speed, not experiencing any key bouncing or extra repeats.  Issue does not happen in Chromium browsers or other applications.

Windows 10 Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045

No addons: Firefox 147.0.1 (64-bit), Firefox 148.0b4 (64-bit)

That behavior has existed since v115, not sure about before that. Opera works the same way, as does Win File Explorer tabs.  You can formally suggest changing that at https://connect.mozilla.org/t5/ideas/idb-p/ideas.
