I love these features, and I hope you can smooth out the experience.
1 - when creating multiple groups using the Split feature, the line to adjust each tab's width becomes non-functional on some of the groups. If you click on it nothing happens, but another split group will suddenly break its own width setting.
2 - when creating multiple groups using the Split feature, the most recent grouping will disappear, even after you created and named it
