I use Firefox for Linux Mint - mint-001 - 1.0 - 145.0 (64-bit). At settings I have not checked the choice "Open previous windows and tabs" - still at every startup Firefox opens all windows and tabs without asking anything. Sometimes I open too many tabs and I would like them to disappear at next startup. I mean also that they should disappear when I restart my computer.
