Current setup for closing the split tabs is moving to the tabs menus and click the cross for the split tab. On large screens it would be very beneficial if the tab could be closed - like a normal window in windows - on the top right corner of the split tab.
Open new link menu is showing the new introduced spilt tab on the second line, new window has dropped to the 3rd line, an exchange would not change the user’s known setup.
