Screen sharing one tab

Hey there, @Jon!

I really appreciate how reliable you are when it comes to information. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me when or who can provide information about screen sharing for a single tab.

I totally get that this might not be the most common use case, but it's so helpful! I love sharing my presentations at conferences. I usually use presenter mode to control the presentation on one tab and display it on another. It is a bit frustrating to keep Brave separate for this purpose, and the option to share a window rather than a tab is not OK for some formats. I always have at least five browsers open on my computer for my own enjoyment, but I still want to be able to give presentations without leaving Firefox.

I would really appreciate it if you could let me know, as I'm starting to feel a bit down.

(I imagined a whole zoo with X11, Wayland, window systems on Windows and macOS with even more options, so I understand that this is not something that can be done from scratch with the click of a finger.)

I'm looking forward to hearing from you!

Sending you warm wishes,

tw.

Hey @tilwiti

Thanks for the nudge and additional insights. Just to be clear, you're referencing this idea:

Sharing screen or tab in google meetings

Correct?

Let me see if there are any updates or a timeline.

Yeah, @Jon, something like this but this is clearly not only for Google Meetings.

I just remembered the summer atmosphere as I wrote this message. Memory and inspiration for writing on Connect work in their own way.
For me, sharing a single tab, copying and pasting into Google Docs and using Split View form a kind of complex, after which Firefox will be perfect.
I can see active progress with Split View, as well as a lot of activity on Bugzilla. Thank you very much for working on this feature - it is extremely valuable for working with large amounts of information simultaneously.
If there are any testing activities for new concepts, I would be happy to participate. Last time, unfortunately, I didn't make the cut, but I'm always available if anything comes up.
Congratulations on December!

P.S. Please give my regards to Ania Safko.
