On "Better search suggestions in Firefox" you write:
> We can then return a result directly or fetch one from a specialized search service.
What are these specialized search services? How does Mozilla decide which are uses the generate the result? Can I configure them?
You also write
> This is a helpful feature, but these suggestions always take you to a search engine results page, not necessarily the information or website you’re ultimately looking for. This is ideal for the search provider, but not always best for the user.
If I find some useful link in the search results, I will click on it and visit the site providing the information. This is good for the party operating the site. They get attention and possbile revenue through advertisement. I consider it a bad idea for Mozilla to do the same as the big search engies are doing: preventing the user from visiting the original site.
