In Thunderbird Desktop Version 157.0.1 | Released October 1, 2026, the "Attach" button does not work when sending a new message. Regards, Mirosław Kowalik

Bug - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2077526. It's fixed, should land in release versions soon. As a workaround for now, you can drag and drop the file to be attached into the message.

The upper "Attach" and lower "Add attachment" buttons also do not work in Thunderbird Version 153.4.0esr (32 bit)
