I really like that Mozilla has added some cool features like naming tab groups and the AI sidebar. Please do not add Agentic AI

Spoiler
like Brave plans to

. I will keep using Firefox all my life even if every other browser has Agentic AI in it! I will refuse any browser that has agentic AI!

Thanks!

Please do not add ANY AI to Firefox.

  1. Firefox has always been known as a browser that puts the user in control, and introducing Agentic AI would directly conflict with that principle by allowing software to act autonomously instead of responding only to clear user commands.

  2. Many people choose Firefox specifically because it is not overloaded with automation or intelligence systems that make decisions for them, and adding Agentic AI would weaken this trust.

  3. Agentic AI introduces uncertainty because users may not always understand what actions the AI is taking behind the scenes, which creates fear of mistakes, misuse, or unexpected behavior.

  4. A browser should remain a neutral tool for access to information, not an active participant that modifies workflows or decisions without explicit permission.

  5. Privacy risks increase drastically when AI systems are allowed to operate independently, especially in a browser that handles sensitive personal, financial, and work-related data every day.

  6. Firefox users value transparency and simplicity, and Agentic AI would make the browser more complex and harder like cln service to trust or understand for many people.

  7. Optional AI features that users choose to enable are acceptable, but forcing autonomous systems into the core browser experience is unfair to users who want a traditional, controllable browser.

  8. Agentic AI may limit customization in the long run, replacing personal preferences with automated behavior which may not reflect the user’s actual needs.

  9. Firefox should focus on performance, security, privacy, and compliance with open-web standards rather than experimenting with technology that has major ethical and safety concerns.

  10. Introducing Agentic AI may create dependency on automation, making users less capable of managing tasks themselves and weakening digital independence.

  11. A helpful example is like hiring a cleaning service in Dubai: even though professionals are hired, the homeowner still decides what areas are cleaned and what rules are followed—nothing should be done automatically without consent.

  12. If Firefox includes Agentic AI, it risks losing loyal users who respect Mozilla specifically for being different from corporations that prioritize automation over user choice.

Conclusion: Mozilla should keep Firefox simple, private, user-first, and transparent by giving people control rather than turning the browser into an automated agent.

I share the same sentiment as you and many others. I do not want any AI built into the very browser itself. I am capable of navigating to a website or installing a separate app just for AI. I don't want AI integrated into Firefox.

Anything that can be done with an integrated AI, can be done with a website or separate AI app just as easily and more safely and securely.

Firefox developers, please do not move forward with your plan to integrate AI into Firefox.
