New update made closing tabs with middle mouse button more difficult for no reason?

With the most recent update in firefox, I am having difficulties closing tabs with middle mouse button.

The area above the tab used to close the tab however since the update it does nothing and it seems the tab icons have been made smaller? Please add an option at least to change back, this is really annoying and for 0 benefits?

This also applies to left click selecting tabs too!

That's a bug.

Try this workaround:

Type about:config in the address bar > press Enter

- click 'Accept the risk and continue' if that appears

- search for widget.windows.windowsappsdk.enabled > change the value to false

- restart FF
