My initial thoughts, this reliance on AI does not spark confidence in the future of Firefox.

How do I preemptively uninstall the AI crap? Or do I need to just find a new browser?

New browser. They're already defaulted-on multiple new AI features, they're not gonna start being honest now.

Genuinly, why? What possible advantage does this provide, to anyone? I have yet to get more than marginal benefits from ai integration on other browsers, and just as often it causes more trouble than it's worth. And when I use Firefox, it's specifically for the fact that it's just a straightforward, functional browser with good privacy. Anything extra is not especially helpful, but this sounds like it will make things actively worse, for no reason.

Saw what the CEO plans to do with AI. Canceled my VPN subscription. Might delete my account and switch to a different browser.

I am going to switch browsers now because WTF? Just joined Firefox this year because it has less AI in it and now they are trying to pull this sh**.

I use Firefox because I value privacy. Generative AI is fundamentally anti-privacy because it scrapes data from the internet without consent from the people posting that writing/art. If Firefox is going to start using MY data for AI, I’m uninstalling it immediately. I don’t even want to see an AI search bar, let alone have AI be built into my browser. This takes all of Firefox’s trustworthiness and flushes it all down the drain because if I can’t trust this platform with my data and privacy, I can’t trust it at all.
