Since the late June 2025 update, we have been unable to render paginated reports in the Power Bi service using Firefox.  This is a new issue with the latest release.  Other browsers do not have this issue.

The error that is consistently received is:
Something went wrong

Unable to render paginated report. Please try rendering your report again.

Please try again later or contact support. If you contact support, please provide these details.

If the issue started immediately after installing the latest update, there's a good chance it's related to a compatibility change rather than your report itself. A few troubleshooting steps that usually help are:

  • Verify whether the error occurs with all paginated reports or only a specific report.
  • Clear the browser cache and refresh the report to rule out cached files causing rendering issues.
  • If you're using Power BI Report Builder, make sure it's updated to the latest version that matches the current Power BI Service release.
  • Check whether the report uses custom fonts, images, or unsupported expressions, as updates can sometimes affect how these are rendered.
  • Review the Power BI Service Health and the report's refresh history to see if Microsoft has reported any known issues.
  • If possible, test the same report in another browser or environment to confirm whether the problem is client-side or service-related.
  • If the issue began only after the update and none of the above resolves it, consider opening a support ticket with Microsoft and include the exact error message, report version, and rendering format (PDF, Excel, or browser).

In my experience, many rendering errors after an update are temporary compatibility issues and are often resolved through a subsequent patch or configuration adjustment. Providing the exact error message and screenshots will also help the community identify the root cause much faster.

If you work with paginated reports regularly, it can also be worthwhile to strengthen your Power BI skills through a structured Power BI course Learning advanced topics such as Report Builder, DAX, data modeling, deployment, performance optimization, and troubleshooting can make it much easier to diagnose rendering issues and build reports that are more resilient to platform updates.
