Iinet webmail migration to The Messenger Company

I can no longer receive (and send) emails in Thunderbird since iinet webmail has been discontinued and I have changed over to The Messenger Company. When I try to receive emails in Thunderbird it asks me for a password for iinet mail, but does not recognise the one I used to have. I'm sure I'll need to change something in the settings, but I don't know what. And I don't even know whether I will be able to send this message and/or receive a reply.

I have a standalone iiNet email account with iiNet and I had no issues with opting in to the The Messenger Company using TB v102 or v115 and accessing / sending emails and I didn't need to change any account settings.

What type of login protocols and ports are you using ?

If the error message asks for your password then you will need to check the password encryption type and port number for both the incomming and outgoing servers.

Here is a link to the iiNet email settings that should be valid with The Messenger Company until at least June 2024.

Interesting move by iiNet to migrate webmail to The Messenger Company. It’ll be important to see how this affects existing users, especially in terms of email access, storage, and security. Hopefully, the transition is smooth and customers get clear instructions to avoid any disruption.

I was actually reading about this while doing a microphone test — a quick and handy way to check if your microphone is working perfectly for online meetings and calls.

It sounds like Thunderbird is still trying to use your old iiNet mail settings, so you'll likely need to update the incoming and outgoing server details along with the new password provided by The Messenger Company. I had a similar issue after a service change, and once the account settings were updated everything started working again. Hopefully you can still receive the replies here soon—just like switching to Playfy TV, sometimes a migration simply needs the correct new configuration before everything runs smoothly again.

I went through the same confusion after the iiNet migration, and the fix was updating Thunderbird with The Messaging Company’s new incoming/outgoing mail server settings instead of the old iiNet credentials. Once I replaced the server details and used my new mailbox password, everything started working again. Hopefully it's just a movie settings issue for you too, and you'll be back to sending and receiving emails soon.

I had a similar issue after moving to The Messenger Company. Thunderbird kept asking for my old iiNet password until I updated the incoming and outgoing mail server settings with the new details. It might be worth checking that first before assuming it's a password problem. I also found it helpful to look up guides while sorting things out just like searching cine hd when you're trying to find the right source can point you in the right direction. Hopefully you can get everything working again soon.
