This is more a rant than anything. But every time FF deploys a new feature, it's incredibly hamfisted and feels like something that should be an optional QoL feature that I somehow get forced into using anyway. This isn't the first case, but the latest and most annoying is profiles. I only have 1 account with 1 profile. I don't need more. So why do you ask me every single time I open FF which profile I want to select, when I only have 1 to begin with? A feature like this shouldn't be shoved down people's throats. It should be available but avoidable.
This trend would be annoying enough, but out of nowhere all of my bookmarks/history were removed despite my account still being logged in and me being on the only available profile. So I logged out of my account and tried to log back in, but now I get an esoteric message that my email is already assigned to "the original profile". Seriously, what in the **bleep** am I supposed to make of that? My only 2 options are to "cancel" or "switch to the original profile", but both do the same thing, which is nothing. Both options say login cancelled and then change nothing about my profile.
I don't even care if there's a fix at this point, because that's not the issue. There shouldn't be footguns built in and I don't understand why these features are always automatically turned on instead of being opt-in.

IIRC there is a checkbox to not display the profile selection. Are you not seeing that? If you are not, please file a bug report https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=Firefox&component=Firefox%20Accounts

I currently can't do anything with my account. It says my account is disconnected, but if I try to login, it says I can't login because my account is already associated to a profile.
