Using a new HP desktop with win 11......need to use MSN Edge now and then for a special program. Will continue to use FireFox 99% of the time.

On Windows, the "default" browser is the one Windows sends links to. If you need links in a different program to go to Edge for a time, you can set Edge as the default in Windows' settings.
Then later you can change it back to Firefox. This article has more info: https://support.mozilla.org/kb/how-change-your-default-browser-windows
