I recently needed to add my entire ProtonMail mailbox to Gmail because I wanted to manage my emails from a single account. I had been using ProtonMail for quite some time, so the mailbox contained a large number of emails across different folders. Manually forwarding everything was not practical for me. I would have had to open individual messages, enter my Gmail address, and repeat the same process for hundreds or even thousands of emails.
I first considered using ProtonMail's export option and then importing the resulting files through Thunderbird. However, that approach involved several steps and applications. I would have needed to export the mailbox, work with the exported files, configure Gmail in Thunderbird, and then import the data. I wanted something more direct because I did not want to spend hours managing intermediate files.
I eventually came across the BitRecover ProtonMail to Gmail Migration Tool, which is also offered as an Email Backup Tool. The software provided a dedicated way to handle the complete migration. I could select Proton Mail from the software, enter the required account information, and then select the mailboxes that I wanted to transfer.
After selecting the source data, I chose Gmail as the saving option and entered my Gmail account details. This was much easier than manually forwarding individual messages. The software also provided Filter and Scheduler Options, which were useful because I wanted to control the migration rather than simply transfer everything without any customization.
Another important concern was preserving the information contained in my emails. My mailbox included attachments, links, metadata, and other email attributes that I needed after moving to Gmail. The BitRecover tool is designed to preserve these email elements during the migration, which made it more suitable for my requirements than simply forwarding messages.
I also liked that the software supports incremental backup and Google OAuth, along with scheduled backup options. These features gave me additional flexibility when managing the migration. Since the tool works on both Windows and Mac, I could use it without changing my computer setup.
In the end, BitRecover made the process much more manageable. Instead of forwarding emails individually or dealing with a multi-application MBOX and Thunderbird workflow, I could handle the migration through one dedicated utility. For my requirement to add an entire ProtonMail mailbox to Gmail, the BitRecover ProtonMail to Gmail Migration Tool/Email Backup Tool provided a more organized way to select my mailbox data, choose Gmail as the destination, customize the migration, and transfer the emails with their important elements.

To move your entire ProtonMail mailbox to Gmail, first make sure both accounts can be accessed through IMAP, then connect ProtonMail as the source and Gmail as the destination. Softaken IMAP to IMAP Migration lets you enter the IMAP host, port, username, and password or app password for both accounts. After connecting, you can preview your ProtonMail folders, including Inbox, Sent, Drafts, and custom folders, then migrate the complete mailbox with attachments. You can also select specific folders or use a date filter if you do not want to transfer everything. The software provides a migration report and a free demo for testing.

If you want to move your entire ProtonMail mailbox to Gmail, the process usually involves exporting your ProtonMail messages first and then importing or migrating the exported data into Gmail. This can become difficult when the mailbox contains thousands of emails and attachments.
BreviSoft Email Backup Tool can help simplify this process by creating a backup of your mailbox data in accessible formats before moving it to another email service. You can use the exported backup as a reliable copy while preparing your Gmail migration.
With BreviSoft Email Backup Tool, you can:
Back up emails and attachments for future access.
Export mailbox data into commonly supported formats.
Preserve important email content and related details.
Handle large email collections more conveniently.
Keep a separate backup before starting a mailbox migration.
Prepare email data for transfer to platforms such as Gmail and other supported email services.
For a complete ProtonMail-to-Gmail migration, first export the ProtonMail data using an available Proton Mail export method. Then use the resulting supported mailbox files with the appropriate migration or import workflow.
BreviSoft Email Backup Tool is particularly useful when you want to keep a separate copy of your mailbox before making a major email migration, reducing the risk of losing access to important messages and attachments.
