Firefox updates often undo webpages pinned to my "new" page

Making moves

Greetings and Happy Thanksgiving-

On say 3 recent occasions (including today) updates to Firefox have unpinned all my previously pinned webpages.  It completely blows away the names too, with something else mostly unrecognizable appearing.  Actually the pages that appear look like they might be something from recent history but all are unpinned as stated.

After perhaps the 2nd explosion I created a doc with the names and URLs of all 32 pinned webpages.  Though effective, copying and pasting each to reconstruct the new page takes at least 1/2 hr.

I nearly always have Firefox running because I use it so much.  When I have any difficulty such as connecting to websites, it seems to invariably mean an update has appeared on my desktop.  Routinely I close the older version immediately and click on the update that reopens with all webpages open from the last session.  (Well except for just once when all that opened was one page with something like "you've updated Firefox successfully".  That was a most unfortunate disaster.)

Any suggestions?
